Guiding
Staying on target
This table shows how the imaging software manages guiding. Self-contained means the imaging software only needs a connection to a camera and to a device, usually the mount or an AO (Adaptive Optics) device to correct guiding errors. Some software, such as TheSkyX and Maxim DL, are self-contained in this sense – but they also can be used by other imaging software to provide the guiding function.
